New term in January 2021
Dear Parents & Carers
We are waiting for further information from Glasgow City Council about the new term, but the following is what we know so far:
- Wednesday 6th January … school will be closed to all children but staff will be in.
- Thursday 7th and Friday 8th January will be extended holidays with school open only for children of key workers.
- Monday 11th - Friday 15th January… school will be open for children of key workers. All other children will be taught at home on Teams, unless parents have indicated that paper work is needed for home learning.
Who is a key worker? The following advice was issued in March and still applies.
It has been agreed across the West Partnership to use the following for key workers:
Where a parent is able to work from home then they should do so and support their child’s learning. Parents and carers should be aware that other family members, such as grandparents can provide childcare.
Keyworkers:
Health and Care workers directly supporting COVID response, and associated staff; Health and Care workers supporting life threatening emergency work, as well as critical primary and community care provision; Energy suppliers (small numbers identified as top priority already); staff providing childcare/learning.
All other Health and Care workers, and wider public sector workers providing emergency/critical welfare services (for example: fire, police, prisons, social workers), as well as those supporting our Critical National Infrastructure, without whom serious damage to the welfare of the people of Scotland could be caused.
All workers (private, public or third sector) without whom there could be a significant impact on Scotland (but where the response to COVID-19, or the ability to perform essential tasks to keep the country running, would be severely compromised).
If you are a key worker and wish to make application for a place for your child / children to be in school from 7th – 15th January, please email Ms Laird or Ms Dominy. We will review your application and be in touch.

A statement to confirm you have no other child care available such as grandparents etc.
You also should note that numbers in school will be very low therefore new bubbles of children will be formed across the school with different year groups in each ‘bubble’. Staff will be put on a rota to cover the ‘bubbles’, your child will not have their own teacher.
Please monitor the school app and group call as they are our main means of communicating with you.
