P5/4 Film-makers

Camera ...... action!

P5/4 are stepping into the shoes of Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Speilberg and Orson Welles this year as they become film-makers.  The class has been invited to participate in a film education programme based on the French long running Le Cinema, 100 ans de jeunesse.  Across Scotland, pupils in primary and secondary school will be working with professional film-makers to write, film and edit their own short film.  At the end of the yearlong project the class will be going to Edinburgh to see their film alongside the other participants at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.  The programme aims to help pupils

  • gain a better understanding of European / world cinema heritage.
  • enhance their aesthetic appreciation of film.
  • develop confidence whilst working on a group project.
  • stimulate their creativity.

The children and Mrs McCarroll are very excited to be involved and are looking forward to learning lots of new skills.  Who knows, we may have an international film director in the making!
