Once upon a time...by Primary 2

Primary 2 are enjoying a special project on Fairytales.  We are listening to lots of famous stories such as Cinderella, The Ugly Duckling, Jack and The Beanstalk and Rumpelstiltskin.  On a Thursday morning we are introduced to a new story, we talk about the characters and what happens in each story.  Then we rewrite each of the stories in our own words so that we can make a Fairytale book of our own.  Our book is unique as Mrs Green illustrated the front cover and we have illustrated our stories too!  Our stories are amazing!

In the corner of our classroom is our Gingerbread House.  A wicked witch lives in it, but when she is off flying around we are able to play and explore.

We are able to play with the story puppets, write our stories on the wipe boards, read stories and make up our very own Fairytales.  There is also a variety of Fairytale clothes to try on too.

We hope you like our photos of the project and enjoy our stories.

The Ugly Duckling by Ishbelle

Once upon a time there was a mother duck who had six eggs.  And one was an ugly duckling who was very sad because the other ducks were laughing at the ugly duckling.  Then he ran away to the barn and hid in the grass.  The ducks laughed at the ugly duckling so the ugly duckling ran away and the winter came.  A farmer saw the ugly duckling and took him to his home and the spring came and he wasn’t an ugly duckling, he was a swan.

The Ugly Duckling by Mustafa

Once upon a time there was a mummy duck and the mummy duck laid her eggs.  All her eggs hatched except one egg and the ugly egg hatched and the mummy duck went to the pond and the ducklings followed the mummy duck when she went to the farm.  Mummy ducked showed her little ducklings, they were small and cute and the ugly duckling wasn’t.  The ugly duckling said can I stay in your nest and the duck said no you can’t stay in my nest go somewhere else and the ugly duckling was sad.  He couldn’t find his mummy duck and the ugly duckling was sad and sad and sad and winter came.  The ugly ducking was tired and he fell asleep.  He grew and grew, he was a swan and the swan found his family.  Come with us you belong here and they lived happily ever after.

Hansel and Gretel by Roddie

Once upon a time there were two kids.  They lived with their stepmother and father they didn’t have much money.  They took the kids into the forest. Hansel put some pebbles and dropped them.  The Woodcutter left the kids in the deep forest and the wood cutter made a fire and left them.  Then they fell asleep, the moon shone, the pebbles started to shine they followed the pebbles to the house.  The very next day they took them back into the forest, they took them even further into the wood.  Hansel picked the bread and threw it on the ground.  The next day they followed a dove and the dove took them to the witch’s house, the witch said come in my house.  The witch was nasty to the kids.  The witch was feeding the kids and put Hansel in the pantry.  Gretel worked hard.  They saw the dove and it took them home and they lived happily ever after.

Hansel and Gretel by Ahmed Razaa

Once upon a time Hansel and Gretel’s stepmother said to the Woodcutter take them to the forest.  Hansel found some white pebbles, the Woodcutter made a fire, they fell asleep.  The next day Hansel dropped the bread all the way home.  They found a gingerbread house.  The witch said why are you eating my house?  The witch took them in the house.  The wicked witch was angry with them.  The witch gave some food to Gretel and lots of food to Hansel.  The witch put Hansel in a cage, the witch said to Gretel go in the fire.  How do you go in the fire said Gretel.  Gretel pushed the witch in the fire. Hansel and Gretel came back home.  They lived happily ever after.

Hansel and Gretel by Abdur Rahmaan

Once upon a time there was one boy and one girl.  One day their father decided to take Hansel and Gretel out in the woods.  Hansel and Gretel heard what they said.  Hansel said don’t worry.  Hansel went outside and he picked up some pebbles.  And they left the kids deep in the forest.  When it was midnight Hansel and Gretel went home again.  Again the Woodcutter brought them to the forest.  Hansel and Gretel followed the dove and found food, they ate some suddenly a witch came and took them inside.  Give them food.  The witch locked Hansel in a cage.  One day she decided to eat Hansel, the witch said to Gretel to see if a fire is warm enough.  She said how do you do it and opened the door.  Gretel pushed the witch into the fire.
