Glendale Primary Parent Council
Parent Council
The Parent Council is a group of volunteer parents whose primary role is to represent the views and ideas of ALL the parents or guardians of children at the school.
We meet every eight weeks or so to discuss and plan the various activities that parents can help with to support Glendale. We have found it easier to break into Sub Groups, working on any ideas that need taken forward and reporting back at the eight weekly meeting on how we’ve progressed.
The main Sub Groups are as follows:

Who can be members of the Parent Council?
The members (who will then have voting rights) volunteer at the Annual General Meeting which is held in the school no later than February each year. Details of the date will be sent out in advance. However , any parent/carer is free to come along and attend the regular meetings regardless of whether they have volunteered to be a Parent Council member.
How can you help?
We are always looking for willing helpers. Whether it’s decorating biscuits at the Halloween party, sharing your views/ideas for the school, or driving forward projects, all types of help offered is greatly appreciated and welcomed.
How do I get information or contact the Parent Council?
Members of the Parent Council bring knowledge to the school from their own experience and personal views and are tasked with ensuring that we give a co-coordinated and collective voice, representing as many parents as possible. We need your input to make sure we are doing this.
Therefore, please feel free to contact anybody on the Parent Council (or drop into the regular meetings), if you want to participate or share your views or ideas.
The minutes of each meeting are posted on the website, and we have started using the notice board in the car park/playground to post messages that you might find of interest.
However, if you cant come along to a meeting but would like to get minutes or information sent direct to your own email address then please contact jangillon@btinternet.com and we will be happy to add you to the circulation list.
For anybody who would prefer any details sent direct through post, please contact school office and we will ensure you receive communication by other means.
